At Outschool, we take pride in offering top-notch educational experiences to our learners. Our community thrives because of educators like you who bring passion, knowledge, and unique perspectives to the virtual classroom. To maintain and elevate the quality of education we provide, we’re implementing an important update to our class submission process.
What’s Changing?
Moving forward, all educators must complete the “Teacher Expertise” section with each class submission. This means when you propose a new class, you’ll need to provide detailed information about your qualifications and experience related to the class topic. Classes that are already listed will not be impacted by this change unless they are resubmitted for review.
Why this change?
- Continued trust with families. Sharing your relevant experience and qualifications helps families feel confident in choosing your classes for their learners. Families and learners are more likely to enroll when they see your specific expertise related to the class topic.
- Ensure a commitment to high-quality classes. By clearly outlining your expertise, we can better ensure that all classes meet our quality standards.
- Highlight your strengths. This is your chance to stand out by detailing what makes you the best person to teach your subject. Showcasing your qualifications sets you apart.
How to Best Highlight Your Expertise
Completing the “Teacher Expertise” section effectively makes a significant difference in attracting families to your classes. Here are some tips and examples to help you craft a compelling description.
Organizations should follow a similar approach and should include the names of educators with the described expertise. If your organization has just one area of focus, you are welcome to indicate that all teachers on your team hold similar credentials and backgrounds.
Examples

We’re Here to Support You
While we value a diverse range of backgrounds and experiences, classes without sufficient expertise demonstrated in the “Teacher Expertise” section may not be approved for listing on our platform. This requirement is essential for maintaining the excellence our community values.
Remember, lived experience is a valid form of expertise. If you’re interested in teaching a subject but don’t yet have the necessary expertise, we encourage you to explore professional development opportunities. Enhancing your qualifications will help you better demonstrate your knowledge and passion to families selecting classes on our platform.
We understand that this is an additional step, but it’s a crucial one that benefits everyone in our community. By providing detailed information about your expertise, you not only enhance your credibility but also contribute to the overall quality of education on Outschool.
