ACE Pillar: Community
Host: Courageous Conversation
What is the ACE Framework?
The ACE Teaching Framework is how Outschool defines outstanding learning experiences on our platform. To help educators practice and develop these core teaching skills, Outschool recommends optional professional learning opportunities focusing on the ACE Framework’s three pillars: Agency, Community, and Expertise.
By participating in these opportunities, educators and organizations can earn an ACE Educator photo frame that signals to families their knowledge and expertise in creating empowering, inclusive online classes. Earning ACE Educator status can also qualify educators and organizations for additional perks from Outschool. Learn more here.

Courageous Conversation® invites you to a special conversation at the intersection of race, language, ethnicity and disability within the AAPI community!
Dr. Kehaulani Haupu and Andrea Johnson of Courageous Conversation® will be joined by NY Emmy-winning writer and director, Liz Sargent, and producer, Molly Jordan, to explore their short film, Take Me Home, as they speak their truth, without hesitation.
Highlighting the challenges faced by the film’s protagonist, Anna, a Korean-American adoptee with and an Intellectual/Developmental Disability, we will examine expression, agency, healing and community-building rooted in an understanding of the intersectionality and diversity that exist under the vast umbrella term “AAPI”.
How can we speak our truths without fear? How can we hear one another? How can we collectively work to uplift minority voices and create a world that is truly built with their needs in mind?
Empowering our AAPI community to communicate the complexities of their experiences on their own terms, we will center humanity and interdependence as we learn how to share, how to remember, and how to move forward with hope.
