What are Educator Pathways?
In 2026, we are introducing Educator Pathways to better support educators at different stages of their journey on Outschool.
Our educator community spans:
- New educators launching their first classes
- Growing educators scaling their offerings
- High-impact educators operating at significant volume
A single communication and support model doesnβt serve everyone equally well. Educator Pathways help us provide the right level of guidance at the right time.
π¬ What are the pathways?
There are three primary pathways:
Foundations
For educators building consistency, launching, or relaunching momentum.
Momentum
For educators growing enrollment and expanding their impact.
Trailblazer
For educators operating at sustained scale and modeling community leadership.
There is also an Organization Admin overlay to support operational complexity.
π¬ How are Pathways determined?
Pathways placement is based on:
- Sustained demand signals (such as revenue and enrollment patterns)
- Reliability and professionalism signals (including good standing and responsiveness)
- Overall marketplace alignment
We intentionally do not publish exact cutlines or thresholds. Pathway placement is reviewed holistically and may adjust over time.
π¬ How will I know which pathway Iβm in?
Educators will receive an email notification when their pathway placement is determined, inviting them to join the Slack workspace.
Placement is based on a combination of sustained platform activity, reliability signals, and overall marketplace alignment. Because placements are reviewed holistically, not every educator will be placed immediately as the program begins.
Additional educators may be added as the program continues to roll out.
π¬ If I meet certain benchmarks, am I automatically in the Trailblazer Pathway?
Not necessarily.
Meeting demand benchmarks does not automatically guarantee Trailblazer placement. Reliability, professionalism, and overall platform alignment are also considered.
Our goal is to ensure the Trailblazer pathway reflects both performance and professionalism.
π¬ Can educators move between pathways?
Yes.
Pathways are reviewed periodically. Educators may move between pathways based on sustained performance and reliability.
Pathways are not permanent labels.
π¬ Do I need to apply for a pathway?
No.
Educator Pathways are determined based on platform activity and reliability signals. Educators do not need to apply or submit any materials.
Placements will be reviewed periodically as educator activity evolves.
π¬ What does my pathway change?
All educators receive:
- Clear announcements and updates
- Access to programming and recorded sessions
- A more structured educator space
- Pathways for growth
Additional programming and engagement will vary by pathway.
π¬ Is this ranking educators publicly?
No.
Pathways are not public rankings and are not visible to families.
They are an internal structure to help us support educators more intentionally.
π¬ Will pathway groups be used to communicate important updates?
Important platform updates will continue to be shared with all educators through existing communication channels such as:
- The Educator Newsletter
- The Educator Library
- Dedicated Emails
Pathway channels are primarily designed to support focused discussions and programming relevant to educators at different stages of their teaching journey.
π¬ Are there negative consequences for not participating in pathway discussions?
No.
Participation in pathway discussions or Slack channels is completely optional.
These spaces are designed to support peer conversation, resource sharing, and programming, but they are not required for teaching on Outschool.
π¬ Can educators opt in or opt out of an Educator Pathway?
Educator Pathways are used internally to organize programming and community discussions.
However, participation in the Slack community and pathway channels is optional, and educators are not required to engage in those spaces.
