Approved & Unapproved External Teaching Tools
An updated list of teaching tools approved by Outschool for classes with learners under the age of 13.

Updated November 19th, 2021

Thank you for working to prepare your class listings to remain compliant with our policy update on using third-party teaching tools in your Outschool classroom. Before updating your classes, make sure you check out this article for more details and why and how we’re making this change.

Though Outschool is unable to share specific details on how the decision to approve each tool is made, we believe that the following lists reflect our goal of keeping learners safe. At this time we are unable to reverse decisions made about unapproved resources.

If you don’t see a teaching tool on either list below but would like to use it in an existing approved class listing, please review the website’s privacy policy to determine whether the site is COPPA-compliant, looking for details such as whether it has an age restriction in place or requires parental support and consent (such as account creation). A website’s Privacy Policy can be a good place to start to find this info.

Unapproved resources for learners under 13

Note: This list of unapproved resources is only applicable if you are trying to send learners to these external websites or resources. You may continue to use materials – such as Teachers Pay Teachers or Vimeo – in your classroom presentations and lectures as long as you are not linking to them or giving learners under 13 a way to click into any of these sites on their own.
